NEW FEATURE RELEASE

Launching a new Seller Marketplace to provide homebuyers with options.

BACKGROUND

Realtor.com is an online real estate marketplace that helps home buyers, sellers, and dreamers have a positive experience throughout their home journey. I led the launch of a new product experience, a Sellers Marketplace that gives homeowners the ability to compare information side-by-side and choose the option that works best for their situation.

With all the innovation around Proptech, there were a lot more options outside the traditional way for homeowners when it came to how they could sell their home. Companies like Opendoor and HomeGo offered homeowners cash upfront to sell their homes through their iBuying process and others like EasyKnock, allowed homeowners to free equity from their homes without having to leave through their sale lease-back programs. In response to the changing landscape and feedback from our users (surveys and interviews), and with Realtor not wanting to become an iBuyer, we explored ways to add value to our homeowners that was in alignment with our company mission - which was to make buying, selling, renting and living in homes easier and more rewarding for everyone.
